Magnificent French Art Nouveau Portrait on Ivory of Gorgeous Art Nouveau Woman, Gold Frame, Signed, C1890! Masterfully hand painted portrait in water color on ivory of exquisitely beautiful Art Nouveau woman. Very mellow ivory colored background enhances her gorgeous face and black hair with fabulous tiara and red and pink roses. Exquisite off the shoulder period gown in pale green with rose colored wrap and a rose on her shoulder enhances her perfect porcelain skin. This heirloom piece of jewelry is signed by the artist, Peiut. Housed in a solid gold brooch frame with elaborate "c" clasp. No markings but jeweler has tested to be solid gold. I bought this to enjoy as a miniature portrait as its large size of 2 1/4" long and 1 3/4" wide certainly places it in that category. It is actually a brooch and pendant portrait so it can be worn or sat on a tiny easel to be enjoyed by all. It is in Excellent condition with no dents or dings, no damage or fading to the fabulous portrait. Any white spots are light or camera glare.
