Exquisite Napoleon III period Tortoise shell and ivory needle case. Tortoise shell in wonderful deep browns and honey hues. There are four ivory inserts, and the ivory rim of the lid and case are all intact, and in excellent shape. Front measurement: 1 3/4" height x 1 1/4" width Back measurement: 2" height x 1 1/2" width Depth is 1 1/2". Circa mid1800's, considering the age of this piece, it is in nearly perfect condition.
