Welcome to my shop! I have experience with pottery, books (and cats) and hope I can help you find what you're looking for!
This wonderful vintage dress has a small “peter-pan” style collar with elegant trapunto embroidered accents leading down to the fitted waist which is accentuated with embroidered “trapunto” design to the bodice. The sleeves end with a point and satin loops designed to hold between the fingers which end with trapunto design to the point. The long sleeves close with small hooks and eyes. The dress closes at the back with a metal zipper. The fabric is a very heavy, rich ivory "antique" (off-white) creamy satin.
History: This gown came in a box with a label stating “Wedding Gown, 1948” along with an extra piece of finished satin material which the dress is made of (for the bustle?) and a long straight half-slip. Both of which are included with this dress. This is a beautiful gown that will make any wedding special!!
Condition is worn with some stains to the front. These are only minor problems as the stains are just on the surface and will come off with a pretreatment when cleaned. Otherwise there are no rips/tears or serious stains that detract from this beautiful ivory satin wedding dress.
This dress is a small size I would say approximately a 4 – 6. The outside measurements while lying flat are: 34" bust, 24" across waist, 16" across the shoulders and 58" from shoulder to bottom of front hem. The train on this exceptional gown measures 74"!
As always, thanx for shopping Katiques and please take the time to see my other unusual finds!
