In the Egyptian Revival style of the time, it has a beautiful purple oval amethyst circled like an "Eye of Horus",
There are also 6 adorable seed pearls discreetly positioned along the bar.
The frame of the pin is a rose gold, while the central line with the pearls and the small lozenges is a yellow gold.
This seems like a simple detail, but it does add a note of refinement to the brooch. Also, the bezel mounting around the amethyst is slightly "guilloche" which increases the sense of lightness.
The brooch is totally ethereal, artistically proportioned, and extremely elegant!
Marked 10kt. Beautiful amethyst color.
The clasp dates the pin fairly well, with a 1910 patent.
