This is an early banded mocha ware mug. It has narrow bands of blue and brown at the top of the mug on an off white base. There is a narrower brown band down near the base of the mug. The base of the mug has a rounded lip. It has an applied handle with molded relief on the edges of the handle. It has slight discoloration or smudges on the side which was done in the manufacture of the mug. The rim of the mug has a few slightly rough spots with one very slight hairline (less than ¼”). There is some staining on the handle, the inside and on the bottom due to age and use. There is a very small chip on the bottom base of the mug. It measures approximately 4" high and 4” in diameter. It dates from around 1800 to 1840. Mocha Ware pottery was made mostly in England for utilitarian purposes from around 1780 through 1840.
