French artist Paul Michel Dupuy was an Impressionist painter fond of depicting women and children on a beach as well as genre landscapes. He won many awards during his lifetime culminating in the esteemed Chevalier de la Legion d’Honneur in 1933. A prolific painter throughout his long career, his work is exhibited in several important museums including the Museum at Reins and in many private collections.

This oil painting on board depicts a Mother and her two children on a windy beach and is typical of the type of work for which this artist was best known. The painting is in excellent condition, signed in the lower right-hand corner as shown; size of frame 14 ¼” H x 17 ¾” W, size of image 9 ¼” H x 11 ¾” W.
